KidSync — Terms of Service

By installing or using KidSync you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

KidSync is a family-coordination tool. It helps schedule activities, assign managers, share with WhatsApp contacts, and provides a Help button for children to message parents.

4. The Help button

The Help button sends a message to parents through Firebase Cloud Messaging. Like all push notifications, delivery is best-effort and not guaranteed. Parents may have their phones off, on silent, or out of signal range. For real emergencies, children should call local emergency services.

By using the Help button feature you acknowledge that KidSync provides no warranty of message delivery, response time, or parent availability.

5. WhatsApp share

KidSync uses WhatsApp's wa.me deep-link to pre-fill messages in your own WhatsApp. You manually tap Send. We never send messages on your behalf, never integrate with WhatsApp Business API, and never automate WhatsApp activity from your personal account.

6. Content you create

Activities, contact entries, custom notes, and similar content you create remain yours. You grant KidSync a limited license to store and display this content within your own family — only to provide the service, never for any other purpose.

If you delete content, we delete it from active databases immediately and from backups within 30 days.

7. Free and paid features

Phase 1 of KidSync is free for everyone. We may introduce optional paid features in future versions. Free features will remain free for users who sign up under the free tier.

Paid features, if introduced, will be clearly marked. We will never silently move free features behind a paywall.

8. Service availability

KidSync is provided "as is" and "as available". We aim for high uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Possible reasons for outage include Google Cloud incidents, Firebase rate limits, planned maintenance, network issues on your end.

We are not liable for missed activities, missed Help requests, or other consequences of service unavailability. Always have a non-app backup for critical coordination (a phone call, a written note).

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KidSync's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months. For users of the free tier, that limit is zero.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost data, missed appointments, family disputes, or emotional distress arising from app use.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman where the operating team is based, with consideration given to applicable Indian laws (Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023) for users in India and applicable Gulf country laws for users in those countries.

Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith communication via romiuknw@gmail.com. If unresolved, parties agree to non-binding mediation before pursuing legal action.

12. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app and by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
